7 Things A Burglar Doesn’t Want You To Know

by Citadel Escrow Team

Whether you own a home, or rent a home or apartment, the following tips may help you avoid having your residence burglarized!

  1. Yes, I really do look for newspapers piled upBurglar Breaking A Window on the driveway. And I might leave a pizza flyer in your front door to see how long it takes you to remove it.
  2. Do you really think I won’t look in your sock drawer? I always check dresser drawers, the bedside table and the medicine cabinet. Helpful hint: I almost never go into kids’ rooms.
  3. The two things I hate most: loud dogs and nosy neighbors.
  4. I’ll break a window to get in, even if it makes a little noise. If your neighbor hears one loud sound, they’ll stop what they are doing and wait to see if they hear it again. If they don’t hear the noise again, they’ll just go back to what they were doing. This is human nature.
  5. Avoid announcing your vacation on your Facebook page.  It’s easier than you think to look up your address.
  6. If you don’t answer when I knock, I try the door. Occasionally, I hit the jackpot and walk right in. Lock your doors!
  7. If decorative glass is part of your front entrance, don’t let your alarm company install the control pad so that I can see it through the glass and tell whether or not the alarm is set.  If you do, you’re making it very easy for me.

We hope the above tips will help you and your family protect yourselves and your valuables.
